Sulphur Dyed 14oz Selvedge Denim Easy Guy Fit
Naked & Famous - 12.7oz Scratch-n-Sniff Hiba Cypress Selvedge - Super Guy.
We'd heard lore of the Scratch-n-Sniff denim for many years now. This is one of those pieces that light up the eternal child in all of us. This is that cereal on the low shelf with the prize in the box. It's a treat not only because the denim is so wholesomely made, but it comes with a bit of a gimmick. The type of gimmick we like - one that doesn't take away from the strength of the denim. These truly do smell when you scratch them. It's something that makes that child in us light up and say "how did they do that?" This northern Japanese Hiba Cypress is a bit more subtle than the previous raspberry scent. It's a woodsy, nutty kind of grownup scent that will have your pants smelling glorious for quite a bit longer than standard denim. At 12.7oz, it's a hardy denim with a classic redline ticker and all the fading potential Naked & Famous is known for.

Samurai - 17oz Bushido Selvedge Denim Jeans - Slim Tapered O/W.
The first thing that drew us in on this pair was the neppy nature of the 17oz Bushido denim. You'll notice so much texture in the close-ups that we simply can't get over. Also, this is the first pair of slim tapered we've had from Samurai. These are built for the guys who like a slimmer look and want a ton of texture. We truly believe a one-wash treatment brings all of Samurai's incredible proprietary fabrics to life, so we're gonna stick with it. It knocks the edge off and brings out the nep in this fabric to create one of the most gorgeous pairs we've ever laid eyes on.
Samurai - "Year of the Tiger" Selvedge Jeans - Middle Straight O/W.
We were beyond excited to see the "Year of the Tiger" selvedge. The first thing that grabbed our attention was those yellow-coated "Matsunoki" buttons. It's unlike anything we've come across in 10 years of business. Those alone would be enough to get us interested, but you know they don't stop there. They've chosen their infamous 17oz "Zero" fabric developed in 2004. This fabric is so filled with texture that it took an extended time to develop, so you know they spent their time getting it right. There are so many details to discover throughout this pair but pay close attention to those pocket bags. These are going to easily become your favorite pair every time you get your eyes on those yellow-coated buttons.
Samurai - 18oz Ecru Selvedge Jeans - Slim Tapered.
We've had our run-ins with Ecru selvedge in the past, but never like this. It's incredible to see a seedy fabric like this come to life after a wash. It has so much texture and slubbiness, the thing you all know Samurai for...but the water takes that cotton to the next level. Also, it's 18oz which is simply incredible. It's by far the heaviest ecru we've ever been able to get our hands on. It does have a fluffy feel to it though which is most likely due to that fabled "Homemade" cotton blend weft. The flecky seeds throughout let you know you're dealing with a natural cotton. On top of that, they matched the selvedge ID converting it to brown for this round. We really think these are going to be something special for all those Samurai heads out there. You can expect all the other details you know and love from the brand.
orSlow - 107W - Ivy Fit Denim - Black O/W.
This pair's fit is mirrored from an archival pair from designer Ichiro Nakasu's own personal collection, however...it's black. It features oxidized rivets and zipper. It's 13.5oz slightly slubby proprietary denim built specifically for orSlow. The little touches including the tag work and the hardware mentioned above are what make this pair. Other than that, they're very subtle which is just what most people are looking for from this brand. The denim has a fluffiness to it from the single wash which will only add to the vintage fading capabilities, in our humble opinion. These will only continue to age and patina with time.

Iron Heart - 14oz Selvedge Denim Cargo Pants - Black/Black
When we saw these pop up on the FW22 prebooks, we couldn't say no. We've become quite the suckers for cargo pants over the last few seasons. They're so reminiscent of pants we wore in the 90s...but like everything Iron Heart does, the construction is cranked up to 1000. If the 11oz was too likght for you, this 14oz packs a punch. And, it's made from selvedge denim this time. These are for the guys who love fading denim, but just have too many pairs in the closet. This black/black is made with sulfur rope dye on the warp and sulfur dip on the weft. These are meant to fade slowly to grey. We can't wait to see these styled!

Warehouse & Co. - Lot 1001XX (1000xx) - 1947 Model - Indigo.
1947 is positioned as the year when jeans were sublimated from workwear to fashion. The balance between their ruggedness and sophisticated silhouette is highly regarded among vintage jeans lovers. Its silhouette is characterized by a deep rise and a gentle taper to the hem. It is one that is prized even in the vintage market because its pattern does not choose the body shape. You've seen the DD-1001xx...well now we present to you its more simple cousin. This is truly the vintage, no-frills denim heads dream. It's the "basic" golden era denim.
Its fabric is the 1947 deadstock blue with the pink selvedge ID. It blends cotton cultivated in Tennessee, Texas, and Arizona to recreate the natural uneven yarn of the time. The denim produced by the rare old-fashioned power loom G3 uses a thread that produces exactly the same discoloration as its vintage counterpart.
Naked & Famous - 12.5oz Red Gradient Core Selvedge - Super Guy.
We've seen just about every variant of core selvedge at this point. I know some people are still waiting for a yellow or an orange, but we couldn't be more stoked to see the red return. the one thing we always wanted from this selvedge was more of, well, a gradient for lack of better words. The way the previous cores bled through was too even and smooth. When we saw the example of how these would fade the hooks were in. We are too intrigued by the future fades to not want to be a part of this release.
The Red Gradient Core Selvedge is a 12.5oz Japanese Selvedge Denim. These may look like a classic pair of indigo dyed jeans, but there is a secret within the core of the yarns that make this fabric. Typically, the yarns used to make denim start off white and are dyed indigo. For the Red Gradient Core Selvedge, the white yarns are first dyed red using a permanent reactive dye, and afterwards are rope dyed with indigo. This creates a yarn that is indigo on the outside with a red center core yarn on the inside. As the indigo layers fade away, the reactive dyed core will begin to reveal itself. Furthermore, the core yarns were dyed with several shades of red to create a gradient tone once faded, so instead of fading to one shade of red you'll see a spectrum of red hues. This fabric is crisp and rigid with that classic raw denim feel.

Naked & Famous - 12oz Catechu Selvedge - Super Guy.
By now you know we're suckers for brown weft selvedge, but have we ever told you why? We think the earth tone colors work better on a denim you're going to cuff than that of bleached white cotton. It's less contrast overall. It's simple but extremely aesthetically pleasing to us. The Catechu Selvedge is a 12oz Japanese Selvedge Denim dyed using a natural tree-based Catechu dye on the interior weft. Wood from the Acacia tree is boiled, evaporated, and the remanence are used to produce the Catechu dye. This dye produces a warm earth tone which can be seen perking through the twill lines of this rope dyed indigo denim. Flip up the cuff to fully reveal the interior color. The indigo warp is woven using a short slub cotton yarn which gives the denim more character and will emphasize vertical fading. The short slub pattern has become one of, if not the most popular weave Naked & Famous uses. The Catechu Selvedge is crisp and rigid with that classic raw denim feel.

Iron Heart - 12oz Selvedge Denim Work Shirt With Snaps - Black/Black.
So this is the one we were originally supposed to get our hands on. If you remember back to a few months ago, we were offered somewhat of a miss-print bill kind of scenario where the black/black fabric was actually black/white. Well...this is the one we truly wanted. It's essentially the "Johnny Cash Works Again" but a little more dressed up. The work shirt has always been our not-so-secret, secret favorite of the two. But sometimes we want something more than buttons. The snaps give us a bit of variance and completely mix up the shirt. This is one of the rare variations that you're probably not going to see in production every year. Grab it while it's hot!

Iron Heart - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight - Superblack (Fades to Grey).
Can you believe this is our first ever pair of black denim from Iron Heart? Wild right? All these years, and we're just now getting our hands on one of the best pairs of denim in their lineup. We of course had to go with the 666 fit, as it's the perfect slim...but not too slim denim. It kind of checks all the boxes. Plus, we've got the Superblack which has tons of character from the 21oz fabric, but is soft up front and eventually fades to grey. It's meant to give you the same feeling you get from a project pair of indigo jeans. These truly are one of the best things IH makes.

Warehouse & Co. - Lot 900xx- 13.5oz Slim Fit White Jeans - One Wash.
We finally got our hands on another rare pair of Warehouse & Co denim. This ecru has been eluding us for quite some time, but we seem to be having all the luck with our orders getting produced lately. It's a wonderful 13.5oz fabric, which feels even lighter because they've given it a one-wash treatment. We're finding more and more that the one-wash is the only way to go. It takes the edge off the wear-in process while leaving all the texture behind. This ecru is something we think everyone should have in their closet.
This fit is a slimmer change-up from the 800xx. It's not skinny by any means but gives you a nice tapered look. From our experience, these still have a nice mid-rise with ample room in the thighs and a decent taper from the knee to ankle. This specific round is cut at 31.5" inseam.
Iron Heart - 21oz Selvedge Denim Double Knee Engineer Pants - Indigo.
If you can't tell, we've really got a thing for double knees lately. We think they add an extra element of style and durability. On these, you're looking at everyone's favorite 21oz denim. At the knees, it's actually 42oz (21x2). This fabric is loosely woven to give them all the heft of a heavy duty pair, with much less break-in. People often say the 14oz feels harder to break in than these because of that low tension weave. It's pretty crazy stuff. This pair has a zipper fly and a custom woven patch where the veg tan leather usually is. It's a really nice changeup for your closet, but also something you can totally work in.

Iron Heart - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo.
Well, we thought the 25oz denim was the heaviest thing we've ever felt, but then we decided to lose our absolute minds and buy this denim. Some argue that this feels heavier once it touches water than the 25, even though it's technically lighter. We think it took Andy 20 minutes to get these cuffed. This is the most hardcore pair of denim we've ever carried. It's absolutely indestructible. Plus, it's an unsanforized pair that you can shrink to fit you just perfectly. It's full of unmatched texture and character which creates incredible fades. That's the whole thing here. The fades are also unmatched. We promise. It's a lot of work, but totally worth the effort when you see them age. Oh yes...UHR stands for "Ultra Heavy Raw."

Studio D'Artisan - 14oz "Mt. Fuji" G3 Selvedge Relaxed Tapered Fit - Indigo O/W.
The G3 fabric from Studio does not disappoint. It is absolutely packed with texture. The loom chatter ensures that, and the one wash treatment adds that extra crunch and warping in the fabric we love. This is a wonderful relaxed tapered selvedge. It has all the details you know from that silhouette, but they've added the Artisan touch for which they're known. A lovely little royal blue accentuates the peekaboo coin pocket. They also used their black anodized buttons for a very sleek look. The veg tan debossed leather "Mt. Fuji" patch is something that will also age with the denim. The back yoke is lined with "Yamagata Sashiko" lining. The "Mt. Fuji" part of this denim is that they switched up the weft on their iconic G3 fabric. Mt. Fuji, reverently referred to as "Fuji-San" is a snow-capped dormant volcano. This greige color is meant to mimic the face of the mountain. They also lined the yoke with a sashiko pattern evocative of mountain peaks, which really helps to drive home that theme.
Studio D'Artisan - 14oz "Mount Fuji" G3 Selvedge Jacket - Indigo O/W.
The G3 fabric from Studio does not disappoint. It is absolutely packed with texture. The loom chatter ensures that, and the one wash treatment adds that extra crunch and warping in the fabric we love. This is a genuinely iconic Type II. It has all the details you know from that silhouette, but they've added the Artisan touch for which they're known. A lovely little royal blue accentuates the dual-tone stitching throughout on the pocket flaps. They also used their black anodized buttons for a very sleek look. The veg tan debossed leather "Mt. Fuji" patch is something that will also age with the denim. That is backed by a "Yamagata Sashiko" yoke lining. The pleating along the front is a style favorite of ours and they've chosen to use a classic box tack for the reinforcement in those areas. This is a classic type ii feature meant to provide expansion in the cold months for farmers packing on weight. The "Mt. Fuji" part of this denim is that they switched up the weft on their iconic G3 fabric. Mt. Fuji, reverently referred to as "Fuji-San" is a snow-capped dormant volcano. Momotaro - 15.7oz - Black Selvedge Custom Black Battle Stripes - Tight Tapered.
This is Momotaro's slimmest fit, but we think it suits the black. Black denim is meant to at minimum be slim, and if you size down on these they're going to be skinny. We started our initial run from Momotaro with 16oz denim due to the texture, but again and again, received requests for the 15.7oz. So, we decided to double down and get the black/black as well. And...we added the black GTB stripe. This is Momo's iconic "Vintage Label" denim. Its a fluffy Zimbabwe cotton with lots of fading potential, even in black.
For our initial run with this denim, we went with black battle stripes to make the denim a little more subtle. Due to requests, we had to bring back the black stripe in this 15.7oz fabric and we thought, why not include it on the black pair as well. We've seen fades on these down the line, and we can't bring ourselves to move on from the black. It'll be something we're always drawn to. The black will sluff off more naturally with the denim, and from what we now know, will stand out nicely against a heavily faded pair. This is crocking that makes perfect sense.
Momotaro always includes signature details, and this pair is no different.
Momotaro - Texture Selvedge Custom Black Battle Stripes - Natural Tapered.
The 0605-82 from Momotaro is a much roomier fit in the top block with a nice strong taper. These guys are for our shoppers who need a little more room in the seat, but still want the look of a tight leg opening. We couldn't help but be enamored by the texture of this denim. A low tension weaving technique helped create this 16oz slubby powerhouse.
For our initial run with this denim, we went with black battle stripes to make the denim a little more subtle. It has been the most requested pair we've ever had online, and we've finally brought them back. We've seen fades on these down the line, and we can't bring ourselves to move on from the black. It'll be something we're always drawn to. The black will sluff off more naturally with the denim, and from what we no know, will stand out nicely against a heavily faded pair. Momotaro - Denim Tote Bag - Indigo.
After our last round of totes, we knew we needed this one. We really resonated with this more simplified print. It's a fairly hardy 13oz denim with the pink/white selvedge id tucked away on the inside. You've also got those hardy leather straps with a copper snap to keep the top closed up. These are simply delightful little bags.
Momotaro - Classic Denim Jacket - Indigo O/W.
We thought it was time to bring one of the classics to the forefront. This classic denim jacket is not like a trucker, nor a type I. It has its own vintage, unique feel based on those riveted front patch pockets. You've probably seen this modified with canvases and upper pockets, but this is the original worker's style. Open pocket styles allowed for easy storage and removal of tools. They also act as a place to put those ever so pesky hands. They riveted the pockets to give them extra strength as these were the first things to get ripped off or blown out. They were truly used. It also has the classic "T-Back" design. This jacket is extremely simple compared to a lot of more modern type ii and type iiis...and that's why we love it. It's the simple details coupled with the 15.7 Zimbabwe fabric that makes this thing an instant cop.
Samurai - 17oz - Denim Aviator's Cap - Hickory.
We couldn't say no to a cap made from Samurai's to start, especially the 17oz Hickory Stripe. They're still pretty hefty though. These do not disappoint in person. Imagine all the denim caps you've seen from brands over the years with, but with the weightiness and construction you expect from Samurai. These are simply packed with character and in a style that almost anyone can wear.
Samurai - 15oz - Denim Aviator's Cap - Indigo.
We couldn't say no to a cap made from Samurai's to start, but if 17oz is too heavy for ya...and you're more of a baseball cap kind of guy...the Aviator cap might just be for you in the 15oz weight. They're still pretty hefty though. These do not disappoint in person. Imagine all the denim work caps you've seen from brands over the years with, but with the weightiness and construction you expect from Samurai. Samurai - 25oz Limited Edition Saigoku-Musou Model - Straight Fit O/W.
This is the SS22 pair we've been waiting for from Samurai. This is the seasonal special edition built around a Samurai in history. This round is dedicated to Tachibana Muneshige (December 18, 1567 - November 15, 1643). This was during th Azuchi-Momoyama period and the Edo-period daimyō. He was considered the best samurai (Musou) in West Japan (Saigoku). Being one of the most famous samurais from Western Japan, he didn't believe in the concept of an "honorable death" in war. He was known for his military capabilities and loyalty to his land and strived to live during ware, vs dying honorably. Believing that people have the power to govern their own fate, Muneshige desires to act without bending to the era's whims and be as free as the wind.
That's all to be said to set the background without even talking about the incredible details used to honor this Samurai. To people who know Samurai, they've come to expect all the intricacies that make them who they are. We get to spend each new arrival combing over the details of these pants, and let me tell you...we simply don't see anyone doing it better. From the shiny gold buttons to the cowhide leather patch and all the way down to the gold/silver intertwined ticker, they don't put a foot wrong. Our favorite detail has to be one that is reserved for the wearer - the pocket bags. This special edition, the proprietary fabric is a rich brown base with a portrayal of enemies battling. It feels like a tapestry on the interior of your pants and will make slipping them on that much better every time.
Warehouse & Co. - Lot S1003XX (1000XX) - 1942 Model - Indigo One Wash.
This version of blue jeans has been sought after for years as the "war model" which can be said to be the most popular among the five-pocket vintage jeans. You can imagine its charm just by itemizing "denim thread", "crotch rivet", and "red paint". The warehouse reproduced this model that exists in dead stock from the highest peak label "DEAD STOCK BLUE". Looking at the details, the crotch rivet should have been abolished at the same time that the buckle back style of the 1930s was taken. In fact, there are no rivets in the coin pockets ... and the sackcloth is light-ounce denim, which is said to be rarer than chambray and flannel. The parts are of war specifications, and the finish is that red paint is used instead of decorative stitches. It goes without saying that this transcendental detail, which was born out of the chaotic rules of various rules, goes well with the slightly chewy dead stock blue denim for the war.
Warehouse & Co. - Lot 1003XX (1000XX) - 1941 Buckle Back Model - Indigo.
This pair is so damn cool to us. It has both a buckleback and beltloops, so you seemingly do whatever you need. They set out to recreate the model that was manufactured in 1941 when the shadow of World War II was approaching while retaining the details of the 1930s that were worn as cowboy uniforms. Buckle back buckles and crotch rivets, which are omitted during the war, remain as they are. And although there are still coin pocket rivets, so-called thick "war denim" is used for an even stronger pant. These are symbolic jeans that were born in the middle of history. Fortunately, these are something that can be reproduced because it is a Warehouse appreciates that history.
Studio D'Artisan - 14oz "Amami Dorozome" Mud-Dyed Selvedge Denim - Relaxed Tapered Fit OW.
We have been so excited to receive this stock from the moment we received our packet for SS22 from Studio. The Mud-Dye process feels so visceral to us. There is literally no one else doing this process. It's an ancient one that gives you earth tones that you simply can't develop through synthetic, chemical-based processes. This method includes minerals only found in Japan's Amami Ōshima island. This process of mud and vegetable oil dyeing has been passed down for generations. We're simply over the moon about all the details, but our favorite has to be the special cowhide patch. We personally think Studio has the best patches in the industry. You're also looking at all the classics including raised belt loops, nickel buttons, and hidden back pocket rivets. If these are anything like the last round of hand-dyed jeans from Studio, they're going to be heavily sought after and be gone in a flash.

Studio D'Artisan - 14oz "Anami Dorozome" Mud-Dyed Selvedge Type II - Dark Brown O/W.
If you didn't know already, you now know that we're fully on board with the Mud-Dyed series from Studio. This special mud and vegetable oil dyeing process create a hand-feel and color variation that simply cannot be mimicked by synthetic, chemical-based dyes. It's truly impeccable that a natural dye creates so much character. I think the wilder part is that we ever went away from natural dyes in the first place. With beauty like this, I think we'll be seeing more and more re-integration into dyes of the past in the future. This classic type ii silhouette is suited to the mud-dye. A traditional dyeing method needs a traditional jacket. Expect a boxier, trucker-like fit to this piece as it's modeled around a conventional type ii. It has all the incredible details we got from the last hand-dyed series including that brilliant leather patch. The black oxidized buttons are another feature we can't stop glaring at. At 14oz, this piece lets you know it's there while the one wash treatment takes the edge off for the initial break-in period.
Iron Heart - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo/Black.
The Indigo/Black first caught our attention in the 25oz. It was instantly beautiful, but 25oz isn't for everyone. And even more so, people are absolutely in love with Iron Heart's 21oz. It's pretty insane that even though it's heavier, the loose weave makes it feel lighter than its lower-ounce counterparts. It's definitely softer up front. If you have a hankering for indigo/black and you're looking for the insanely beautiful shadow fades it produces...this is the pair you want. It's the best of the best in Iron Heart's most iconic fabric. We simply cannot wait to see some of these fades.

Iron Heart - 14oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt - Black, Black.
We've been getting hit up left and right for a black version of this shirt. Last time, we snagged the work shirt which was absolutely beautiful. We think this is the one that everyone lusts over though. The western shirt lends to the sleek nature of all black. It's something you can wear with almost anything from the fanciest of occasions to working in the backyard. It comes with all the Iron Heart bells and whistles, of course. Our favorite part of these shirts is the little peak of selvedge id in the side gusset and under the cuff.
